International Drug Rehab – About the IMPETUS Foundation

There are a number of charitable non-profit organizations that are operating out there to help combat poverty, but a social issue that is also just as important is the need to help those people that are struggling with drug and alcohol addiction. Because this is a disease that strikes all levels of society and class, there is a need to remember those that can’t afford treatment on their own. Addiction can happen to anyone, and oftentimes will simply sneak up on people without the proper education or support network. The IMPETUS International Foundation, formed in 2009, has made it their mission to try and combat this cycle of addiction.

Based in the Republic of Panama, the IMPETUS Foundation was founded by a group of business entrepreneurs. They had all been performing charitable works in the past, but realized that if they combined their efforts into one charity they would be able to wield more power and really make a difference for those people who need it more than anyone else at times. The foundation is dedicated to the holistic treatment of drug and alcohol dependency, and all the issues that can stem from this. This however is only their first project, and they are currently planning further projects that will extend worldwide to help those in need.

The first project of the IMPETUS International Foundation however has been this rehab program. Many of the entrepreneurs and founders of this non-profit had been working in charities in the past that specifically addressed this problem, and they saw a real need for those without the finances to be able to have access to world class rehab facilities. This is an issue that has rarely been addressed in the past, especially on an international level like this. There is currently a long waiting list full of people who are seeking help in their fight against their own drug or alcohol addictions, and with time they will all hopefully be treated.

This rehab facility that has sprung up through the efforts of IMPETUS is known as the International Drug & Alcohol Rehab of Panama, and is currently serving international clients. These patients come to the treatment center from all walks of life and economic backgrounds, both for the luxury facilities as well as a sliding-scale clinic that serves addicts in need. There is also a sister facility that helps teenagers that are battling their own drug or alcohol addiction. This all helps place the emphasis on the fact that addiction can affect anyone, with devastating results. Addiction is not just for the rich or just for the poor, and it can spring up seemingly out of nowhere, with frightening results. This is just one step out of many to help people find relief.

Panama has been chosen as the location for IMPETUS’s activities because it is ideally located, and the foundation is able to run its businesses for a fairly low cost of operation, though donations are always welcome. Panama is not only safe and secure, but it is a convenient and short plan ride away from major US cities such as Miami or Los Angeles. With a tropical and sunny climate, beaches, and mountains all available as part of the surrounding landscape for the International Drug and Alcohol Rehab center, there is an unparalleled opportunity for patients to sit back and be able to find relaxation at their fingertips.

The premise behind the International Drug and Alcohol Rehab program is that fighting addiction, in order to be successful, must utilize several layers of therapy. This should include a physical component as well as proper psychological training. The IMPETUS Foundation has found a dedicated and caring staff to help achieve these goals and help those who are in need, with a true passion for healing. Therapy sessions are conducted on an 85% one-on-one basis, which is different from other, less-successful rehab programs that rely almost entirely on group therapy.

Patients and clients that enter the International Drug Rehab are also treated to the attitude that they are able to come and go as they please, as well as an emphasis on their personal privacy. One of the main reasons why patients relapse in other programs is that they feel like they are being judged by others, or they are afraid that their medical records will be released for scrutiny by the public. There is none of this danger here in this particular rehab program. The entrepreneurs behind the IMPETUS Foundation have enlisted the help of scientists and have done their research to examine what works and what doesn’t.

To help patients in the International Drug Rehab, IMPETUS has also gone the extra mile to think about the detoxification process and what can be done to make this transition go more smoothly. Volcanic mud packs are used in conjunction with massage therapy and acupuncture to help rid the body of toxins. This all aids in relaxation for the patients, and leaves them with a clean body and clear mind, as well as a noticeable increase in energy. From there, they can then go on to start thinking about the psychological aspects of their condition. This holistic approach to addiction is what sets apart the program overall.

As a result, there is a high success rate of over 90% of all patients in the International Drug Rehab finding a cure for their addictions after going through this program. The program can be completed in as little as 14 days, but most will find that they want to stay longer. IMPETUS gives this same flexibility to those who are in need that end up staying in the low-cost or free clinic. Because this clinic is run by donations, they are always looking for assistance in the maintenance of that part of the program. Every little bit helps, and they have enlisted the international community to band together and provide relief for those in need.

The next step on the agenda for the IMPETUS International Foundation is to go beyond simply helping those that are struggling from drug and alcohol addiction, and find relief for victims of accidents and the elderly. This plan involves the erection of a long term care facility for both types of people who are in need, again in Panama. This should be completed in 2011, and will offer the accident victims the same level of personal care and world-class amenities that the International Drug Rehab is currently giving those in need. This will be geared towards providing world class health care, for everyone regardless of their social status, around the world. Cash donations are appreciated to help IMPETUS further their vision of a world without suffering.
